Akshan Ranasinghe, '27, is a sophomore at Marriotts Ridge High School. A Maryland state champion public forum debater, Akshan brings sharp analytical skills to political discourse. Beyond PIVOT, he leads student teams in developing comprehensive policy proposals as a Team Lead for Representative Chao Wu and contributes to local journalistic discourse at startup-firm Yuan Media. Earning national recognition through various competitions, Akshan also aims to empower marginalized voices on a larger stage through his writing and media projects. When not crafting policy briefs or empowering his community, Akshan can probably be found hanging out with friends or listening to music from Duke Ellington to Daniel Ceasar.
